A few days back, I went to see the Qutub Minar in Delhi, and the place is filled with squirrels. They are so adorable as they ferret around for food. Yet, despite trying for ten minutes, I couldn’t capture a decent picture. This one is good though. 🙂

You seem to have a thing for historical places.
Yes they are so adorable. This one time I was all up and ready to catch a few with the help of a trap. I had all plans ready when my mom said that I’m not allowed to bring any of them home 😦
I’ve experienced baby sitting an infant squirrel tho, for like three days.
Thank you 🙂 And oh.. Superman, my camera roll is full of squirrels haha.

Yes, I love the quiet these places offer in bustling places. Which is weird because I love crowded places. And I also like quiet places like forests and stuff because I live close to one. Okay, this is becoming confusing.
What is it with ammis and cute animals? My mother wouldn’t allow me to bring kittens home when I was a kid.
October 19, 2015 at 6:21 pm
Because they’re already raising a wild human, and then an additional animal baby would cause chaos in the house. So why double the responsibility? One is enough. Also that kids can’t take care of wild animals. Moreover, the animals’ parents would get worried and then all that bad dua scene might start. – Mum logic. (Yes, you are supposed to laugh.)
Sometimes I feel that people experience life more deeply than I do. And that makes me sad. Why so thoughtful, Superman?
October 19, 2015 at 6:30 pm
Haha, that makes so much sense. We were wild animals while growing up (still are in some cases),
Experiences make you think, Mahaah. Good and bad. It’s nothing to be sad about.
October 19, 2015 at 6:32 pm
Hmm I agree, Superman. 🙂
October 19, 2015 at 5:59 pm
They do that really? Take care of the baby? So sweet ^-^
October 19, 2015 at 6:07 pm
Yes they do 🙂
October 19, 2015 at 7:12 pm
Owwwww so cute!! Beautiful picture 😉 how did you do that? I never managed to SEE a squirrel from near, they always run away
I loved learning the fun fact!
October 19, 2015 at 7:27 pm
Practice, Loubnanya 🙂
Good that you did now. Great! Thank you 🙂
October 20, 2015 at 2:51 am
Awwwwww so frickin cute. When I went to India last year, I had gone to Qutub Minar, there were so many squirrels all up to some antics of the sort and I was busy watching them run around. Mum is like we have come to see Qutub Minar not squirrels haha.
I am yet to see one here in Aus. You are lucky you have these munchkins at uni. And it is hard to capture a photo of em. They are never at the same place for more than 2 seconds.
October 20, 2015 at 4:25 am
It’s the same in Taj Mahal. The Mughal gardens are filled with squirrels. And they are so distracting. When you strike this perfect pose with the Taj in the background or have this perfect shot in your camera, you’ll notice one scurrying around out of the corner of your eye, and you’ll go, “Oh, gilahri! Gilahri!” and the shot is ruined.
October 20, 2015 at 5:38 am
Haha yeah so truuee!!Me too. Most of my photos came blurry because I used to get distracted due to these adorable munchkins.
This reminds me. Last year we booked a bus and tour guide to visit all these places such as Qutub Minar Laal Qila Jama Masjid etc. We went to Taj Mahal later as well unfortunately holiday season so it was soooo crowded couldn’t see any gilahris. People everywhere photobombing my photos. This dude behind me was picking his nose while I was taking the perfect selfie with the Taj 😥
Anyway the Diwan-e-Khas of Shajahan was filled with squirrels and I did manage to take a photo and how I wish I could share it in the comment section of WP because I did manage to capture a group of gilahris doing their thing. As they say, show the pics or it didn’t happen. I swear it did.
Why do I sound like a mad woman? That’s what cramming for exams do to you.
October 20, 2015 at 5:50 am
That’s exactly the kind of photobombing thing I would do 😀 or probably do that thing in 3 Idiots (jahapanaa tussi great ho, tohfa qubool karo)
Now you made me feel guilty. I am disturbing you. But considering the kind of evil I am, it doesn’t bother me a lot hahaha 😛
And congrats on getting the snap. I might just ask Mahaah to lend me some that I can pass off as my own.
October 20, 2015 at 6:21 am
Hahaa naah Ershad. You wouldn’t be that disgusting now would you? I only realised the nose-picking action when I was zooming in to check out some thing else and almost gagged. Had to delete it.The worst part was I was back in Australia and hence I could not recreate the selfie even if I wanted to. I laughed so hard imagining you doing the 3 idiots thing. Now that, yes, that’s exactly what you would do.
Nope you are not disturbing me at all.And yes you are indeed a sly devil although in this instance I blame Mahaah.Had she not posted this gilahri post, I wouldn’t have to reminisce my Indian trip, I wouldn’t have to go through my camera roll and look at all the photos and get nostalgic, I wouldn’t have wasted an hour, I wouldn’t be having this conversation now. I would be having heaps of fun doing my assignments instead. Thanks Mahaah 😛
I guess squirrels allow girls to take their snaps. They steer away from boys because my experience of Indian guys and animals are what I would call masochistic although I am sure you are not.But squirrels wouldn’t want to take risks.
October 20, 2015 at 6:33 am
No, I won’t haha, but I would observe that guy and probably write a post on him. Something along the lines of How to pick your nose in public.
I won’t take the pants off though. I’m slightly conscious of showing my undies in public 😀
Yes! Let’s all blame Mahaah! For showing the soft, pudgy, squishy, cuddly creature.
And yes, I know what you mean, and no I’m not like that. 🙂
October 20, 2015 at 6:40 am
I was about to say the same. That you would write a post on these people. Kinda reminds me of your first post on a beautiful girl picking her nose at public transport and although I was slightly put off reading that, I kept reading it anyway coz the power of your words keeps people enraptured even in the most yukkiest situations.
Thank God you won’t.I swear, that’s the only reason I didn’t like 3 idiots because every 5 minutes, someone had to do that. That and also the ragging scene when Amir khan gives an entry in the hostel. It wasn’t supposed to be called a family film. People here get put in jail for exposing if anyone does that and pops their pant out for salutes.
Yesss haha I love the description. Soft and pudgy and squishy.
Yeah I knew you weren’t 😉
October 20, 2015 at 6:46 am
Oh, I already wrote that, didn’t I? I forgot about that haha. Yes, that girl was beautiful despite her .. er… preoccupation.
That ragging thing is somewhat true though. It still happens and it’s actually humiliating and not at all funny.
Okay, I’ll stop now. What is it with you and I spamming other people’s blogs every now and then?
Sorry, MahaSuper Mahaah.
October 20, 2015 at 6:55 am
Haha yeah you did. And pre-occupation had me in tears.
Really? That is so sad to hear. I bet it is humiliating. I feel sorry now. Thought it only happened in movies.
Arrggh I know. We relate to so much stuff that people post and have our own stories to share that we end up disturbing the author.
Sometimes I wonder if I shall end up as the crazy single cat lady at old age talking paragraphs to robots online who work night shifts so I don’t feel lonely. Late night thoughts.Don’t judge.
Sowwie Mahaah Aatma. You really are a cute and talented Aatma tbh. I hope this appeased you 😛
October 20, 2015 at 7:05 am
I am NOT a robot :D. But I do have night shift today (or tonight). Sigh
Tu ya toh so ja, nahi toh padhai kar ladki.
Okay, the end. And yes Mahaah Aatma!
October 20, 2015 at 7:08 am
With online profiles, one can never tell. Although you do have a profile picture so yeah maybe you are not. Have fun at night shift.
That made me giggle. Thak gayi parh parh ke.Parhai khatam hone ka naam nahi le rahi 😦 Lekin theek hai, kahte ho toh jaati hoon. Sone 😛
Now its the end. Coz it always is when the girl says 😉
October 20, 2015 at 8:56 am
Hey Aaliyah, You don’t sound like a mad woman. 🙂 Why don’t you post a blog about it? And attach the pictures.
Lol I believe you. People are people.
October 20, 2015 at 10:01 am
Thanks Mahaah for believing in me. And I shall see if I can make a post out of it.
October 20, 2015 at 8:54 am
In reply to Superman..
Hahaha.. must be frustrating.
Acha I’m just too used to snapping their photos, (whether blur or sharp) that now even if I’m about to scream, “Hey! Stay!”, I don’t. Animals are good listeners. One foot stepped wrong and they are gone. Same is with humming birds, eagles, nightingales, cuckoos, chameleons, and what not. Haha. (Yes, I’ve taken their photos, time and again.)
October 20, 2015 at 9:46 am
Haha, I guess I’ll need lessons from you to click pictures of animals 😛
October 20, 2015 at 9:18 am
So I just came here to see what was up on my blog when I saw that my notifs had been bombarded with comments of you both. Haha. Thanks a lot for using my post as a-140-character-limit-less-twitter. And no its not sarcasm 😀 I was replying each and every comment when I realized, “Wait. Read them all. Then say something.”.. And I was laughing my head off at the humor your comments were infused with.
Aaliyah, thanks for that MahaahAatma thing and Superman, shukria for calling me MahaSuper Mahaah. These are the best nicks ever.
Stories that you both have written, were fun imagining. Write something on that yaar. Tafreeh aaye gi. For real.
I mean just look at it, you guys started from Qutub Minar, went to Taj Mahal, came back to Australia, analysed 3 idiots, and them blamed me at the end? Tch. Hadd hai.
Aailyah, lag k parho, WP chhoro. Haan mujhe pata hai meri posts tumhen yahan wapis khench laati hain magr phir bhi 😀 *grins widely* haha.
And hey, tell your mom that I love her humor.
Thanks anyway for all that tareef k I can’t even keep track of it now.
October 20, 2015 at 10:15 am
LOL 140-character-limit-less. Yup sorry for bombarding with notifs. Ershad and I have the habit of making every post ito our chat room. I am glad you enjoyed it too.
Hahaha ikr? well Ershad is good at writing such vivid travelogue that you feel like you were with him. You must have read his recent post yeah? But I know. We should do a collab 😀
Hahaha yaar jaese “lag ke parho WP choro” bola, kasam se ekdam ammi ki yaaad aa gayi. Mera matlab hai ammi toh hain mere paas har 15 minute main yahi dialogue bolne ke liye lekin ye parhke hansi aa gayi.
My mum also loves you back. For the fact that her daughter keeps getting distracted by gilahris 😛
You truly are a Mahaah Aatma tho coz you loved our spam instead of getting annoyed. Oh btw send me friend request on fb yaar. Chat there instead of ruining the beauty here.
October 20, 2015 at 10:51 am
Collaboration sounds like a great idea. The other day I was reading this viral post on WhatsApp about the different kinds of potty. We could write one on the different kinds of farts!!!
No, no. No, no. Behuda aadmi. Ladki ke saamne kya baat karte ho. Tauba Tauba.
But seriously we could think of something (not related to farts or poo or anything remotely concerned with human waste) and it would be fun. Let me know if anything comes up. 😀
October 20, 2015 at 11:11 am
Hahahahahhahahahaha oh my gawwwd Ershad. That was so Ershady of you I swear. Wanna hear something even more gross? So I was eating chocs while calculating the absorbance of lactate dehydrogenase when my phone pinged with notification so obviously I had to stop and respond and when I read your comment I laughed so hard that the chocolate fell off on to the ground and as I went to pick it up, it kinda resembled what you have been talking about and I went ewwww and then I started laughing so much that I had tears. Yeah call me crazy.
I would love to do a collab with you. I hope I can match up to your humour level. And I will try to think of something not poo related 😉
October 20, 2015 at 11:17 am
See, I’m infectious 😀 I can corrupt people. By the way, lactate dehydrogenase almost twisted my tongue. Too many syllables there. I can imagine how difficult it would be calculate its absorbance, whatever its purpose might be 😀
Drop me an email on my contact page when you do 🙂
October 20, 2015 at 11:26 am
You really are lol. Still laughing.
See? Now you know why I would chat here on WP then do my work.
And heeyy, you put on the thinking cap too ok? I mean might as well put those night shifts into good use. Btw is it true that people who do night shifts don’t do as much work as day ones? As in you just mindlessly stare at machines so that nothing bad happens? Wait, that’s what the watch-man does yeah? Stop rambling Aaliyah. Taking advantage of Mahaah’s generosity.
I shall drop ze email right now in case you get the inspiration before me.
October 20, 2015 at 11:32 am
Yes, I’ll try to do my part. 😀
And kisne bataya? Sshhh!!
It’s true though. The instructions given to night shift personnel are “Keep everything as it is and don’t burn down the house.” Or in our case, the refinery.
Again sorry Mahaah.
And I’ll respond as soon as I can to ze email.
October 20, 2015 at 11:50 am
Last one I promise Mahaah just coz I can’t help it.
So Ershad do you shout Aaaal is welll? Or rather sing it haha? You can tell I got 3 idiots on my mind.
I shall look forward to it.
October 20, 2015 at 12:55 pm
Lol. I sing it, at you know where 😛
October 20, 2015 at 1:09 pm
Hahaha ok stop now otherwise my tombstone will read R.I.P Killed by LOL 😛
October 20, 2015 at 10:47 am
Haha, thank you for not telling us off 😀 And yeah Aaliyah and I have the habit of getting carried away.
Oh, and my travels are usually filled with disgusting things. So I don’t think it would be a good idea. I’d probably write about the kind of things you see in Indian trains when it is at the station and then you’ll go eww dude. Or the different ways people snore during long flights etc. Trust me it won’t be a fun read.
October 20, 2015 at 2:35 pm
I was talking about the gilahri thing and you guys went to an entirely different direction. Write something on “gilahriyon ka taj mahal/qutub minar”, not poop 😀
“That was so Ershady of you” hahahah Aaliyah kahaan se laati ho yar.
And hey, I don’t mind seeing my notif bar flooded. It was fun. But yes, stop now. I can’t handle the humor anymore. Gosh. My stomach hurts from all the laughing.
October 20, 2015 at 7:26 pm
It’s all my fault. I always say the wrong things at the wrong time at the wrong places 😀
October 20, 2015 at 7:29 pm
Don’t all humans do that? 🙂
October 20, 2015 at 7:30 pm
October 21, 2015 at 7:09 am
Hahahahaha yeah blame it on sulphurman.
Yaar dimaag khaali ho raha hai. Khali dimaag shaytaan ka workshop hai you know that saying na? A idle mind is a devil’s workshop. Toh bus wahi faaltoo ki baaten.
Hahahaha humlog hain hi nautanke baaz. ahaah, we 3 are the 3 idiots of WP. The decent ones tho. And I am Amir Khan of our group coz ya know me. The coolest 😛
October 21, 2015 at 8:24 am
Hahaha. If I’m included in that squad, I must be the wild life photographer. :p
October 21, 2015 at 11:38 am
Yeah you can be Madhavan guy and Ershad can be the third God-fearing one lool
Mujhe Raju Rastogi bana diya? Yeh toh na-insaafi hai. (Btw considering how much older I am than you kids, the role of Virus would probably suit me more 😀 )
October 21, 2015 at 12:19 pm
Hahahaha sorry Ershad only position left from 3 idiots was that one. Lol Viru. That’s a funny thought.
Btw Mahaah my fb is messed up atm. Can’t log in and when I do, it shuts off on me.And I can’t seem to see my post. I guess it couldn’t handle the beauty of your eyes and my vampire canine tooth which btw, what power are your glasses? How the hell did you see that one single canine tooth? So frickin impressed. And thanks for the compliment cutie. I am glad that I came up to your expectations coz mine never does. In your case you are even cuter than I thought.Your description had me laughing and I wish I had sent just my eyes like you coz they say eyes are window to the soul and all that stuff. You are the artist so that’s why. I shall be messaging you private as soon as fb gets fixed. Living here in Australia, touted as a first world country, you would think this would be fixed smh
October 21, 2015 at 12:22 pm
Ah, all right. At least I can do that induction motor bit. That was a funny scene.
October 21, 2015 at 12:23 pm
That was my fav scene tbh
October 21, 2015 at 12:51 pm
Hahaha.. Mine most of the time do. I have this superpower of imagining the other half of faces exactly the way they are. Which is creepy.
Umm.. -3. Because I have one. So I seem to notice other people’s whenever they smile or try to hide their smile 🙂
Hah. 😀 Glad that you are impressed :p Another addition to that list.
Jee. A message to Aaliyah’s facebook : FRICKIN GET WELL SOON.
October 22, 2015 at 2:39 am
Really? Now that is one hell of a superpower!! And yeah it is haha
Whaat? No waay!! You too?? Awesomesauce!! Yeah I am conscious of it as well.
October 22, 2015 at 3:47 am
😀 This is just the shuruaat of my creepiness :p
Yes. Me too. I’m not really conscious. I like the one I have. 🙂
October 22, 2015 at 10:44 am
Haha I am curious to know how much creepy can you get?
Hmm I am trying to embrace mine as well and I was asking mum if I can have corrective procedure but mum says she loves that feature of mine, makes me unique. Basically “beta agar tum sabse naati ugly bachchi bhi hoti toh tab bhi khoobsurat hi lagti” stuff. Haha naah jokes. Its not that bad I guess 😛
October 22, 2015 at 11:04 am
Hahaha. you’ll get to know slowly..ahista.. dheeray.. dheeray.
Lol. My khala went through that procedure and my mom scared me about it so well that I never even thought about it.
Lol. No it wasn’t. 🙂
October 22, 2015 at 10:34 pm
Haha can’t wait?
Uff really? Now you scared me. And my mum is so happy for that she gave you hugs 😉
October 23, 2015 at 1:34 am
Sabar ka phal meetha. Wait karo :p
Haha. The ever going chain of scaring other people :p
Tell her I virtually hugged her back 🙂
October 23, 2015 at 1:40 am
Haha har koi yahi kahta hai. Mujhe sabr nahi karna aur na hi phal chahiye 😛
Yes, learning to embrace the half vampire in me!! Btw you are the first person to give it such a cool term of vampire. I feel like a superhero 😛 urrgh I mean villain
October 23, 2015 at 1:49 am
Well I call myself a Carnivorous Lion so I couldn’t just share it, instead I invented a new one for you. 😀 I’m mean. Damn.
October 23, 2015 at 2:11 am
Oooh damn it,that does sound uber cool. You are selfish Mahaah 😛
P.S. I got Let it Go stuck in my head.
October 23, 2015 at 9:08 am
Hahahah Oh please don’t say that. I’m literally sick of listening to this compliment 😀
Yours is way awesome btw.
Hahahah. Ab parh kay dikhao :p
